Illustrated  © Jack Bowman

There was once upon a time a wise man named Zarathrustra and a mean crocodile named Sweet Green   Sweet Green would lay in wait for all that walked by.   Zarathrustra took a walk with wooden monkey.  Near the lair of Sweet Green.

Zarathustra and Wooden Monkey are walking along the water's edge.

Zarathustra stops and says to Wooden Monkey,  "Don't go near the water".

Wooden Monkey continues and as he touches the water Sweet Green the crocodile comes out from behind the grass and thrashes him about while in his mouth.

Zarathustra beats Sweet Green with his wooden stick but to no avail.

Zarathustra says, "Oh well, Wooden Monkeys are not that tasty anyway."

Sweet Green continues to thrash the screaming Wooden Monkey

Along the way Zarathustra met a Frog.  "What is your name Mr. Frog", Zarathustra said.  The green frog replied, "I am Hop-and-Bop"

Zarathustra said "Don't go near the water.  There is a Crocodile named Sweet Green that will eat you up."

Hop-and-Bop said, "I am so fast.  I can jump and flip.  Nothing can catch me because I'm so hip."

Hop-and-Bop continues and as he touches the water Sweet Green grabs him with his mouth and thrashes him about.

Zarathustra beats Sweet Green with his wooden stick but to no avail.  Sweet Green continues to thrash Hop-and-Bop.

Zarathustra turns and walks away as the splashing sounds continue.  Zarathustra then says, "The croc ate Hop-and-Bop.  Now maybe the croc can hop and jump and flip."

Zarathustra then met a turtle.  "What is your name Mr. Turtle?" Zarathustra asked.  The turtle did not answer.  Zarathustra said, "I will just call you So-Low."

As they were nearing the waters edge Zarathustra stopped and said, "Don't go near the water."

So-Low continues toward the water and as he reaches it Sweet Green grabs him.

"Crunch-Crunch" is heard as Sweet Green breaks his teeth.

Sweet Green says, "Ouch"

So-Low turns and walks back along the trail with Zarathustra.

Sweet Green says, "I hate dentist"

Zarathustra says to So-Low, "Armor helps"
